Drums, percussion, piano and music technology lessons are all available from my home studio in Teesside. I teach a wide range of ages from beginners right through to gigging musicians and everything in between. Whether you would like to work through the grades or advance your techniques you’ve come to the right place!

Between the years of 2011-2016 I taught in many (probably most!) of the schools in the Tees Valley area at both primary and secondary level as a peripatetic music teacher. Here I picked up a wealth of teaching experience so you can be confident that yourself/your child will be in good hands. I also like to draw on my experience as a professional musician to give the student an insight into real music making and what is needed to be pro.

Whilst most lessons are 30 or 60 minutes I am flexible with duration to best suit the pupils needs/budget. Enhanced DBS checks are in place and I can provide a copy of the document should you require it!

Lesson availability is extremely limited so please get in touch with any questions or to book your free first lesson!

"Tom has been teaching my son drums for the past 3 years, he has gone from strength to strength from grade 3 to sitting his grade 8 this year. Tom is a great teacher with plenty of experience and my son loves his lessons, would highly recommend."

"My teenage son has been having drum lessons with Tom Chapman for over two years now and I am delighted with the progress he has made in that time. Tom is always encouraging, positive and constructive and ensures that the lessons are both enjoyable and challenging at the same time. With Toms support my son is already working towards grade 5 on the drums but more importantly he is enthusiastic about his lessons and loves the chance to play in Tom's studio. I would recommend Tom as a music teacher without hesitation!"

"Oscar really looks forward to his weekly lesson with Tom. With his expertise, Oscar is progressing brilliantly, despite being only ten. He has only had a handful of sessions, yet I can already see how much more knowledge Oscar has gained!"
